Multi-centre study across Teaching Hospital Kandy, District General Hospital Trincomalee (T. Jeevaraj), and Teaching Hospital Jaffna. Evaluated whether Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) by speckle-tracking echocardiography predicts significant coronary artery disease in patients with chronic stable angina and normal LV function. Study of 78 patients demonstrated that lower GLS values were significantly associated with CAD severity; GLS cutoff of −19 showed useful diagnostic performance.

Current research under the MD Health Informatics programme at PGIM focuses on the application of informatics methods in the Sri Lankan public health context.
